Hospital consultations within Imagine
Necker-Enfants malades hospital AP-HP offers patients various specialty and supportive care consultations on the ground floor of Imagine to improve their treatment.
- Medical and paramedical consultations for rare diseases (meeting the following priority criteria: disability, multidisciplinarity, strong link to genetic activity),
- A clinical investigation center (CIC) for monitoring patients participating in clinical research trials.
There are about 30,000 medical consultations, 15,000 supportive care-related consultations (psychologist, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychomotricity, dietetics, social worker, genetic counselor). There is also an area dedicated to therapeutic education sessions. There is also cubicle devoted to non-hospital partners and associations.
On the 1st floor of Imagine is the Necker rare diseases and chronic diseases platform . Coordinated by Véronique Richard, this innovative local-regional structure is supported by 34 co-ordinating and associated reference centers for rare diseases. Its purpose is to:
- Facilitate and streamline patients’ care journeys and access to resources at the Necker site,
- Develop cross-disciplinary actions such therapeutic education and training.
Necker-Enfants malades hospital AP-HP also coordinates a European rare diseases health network.
A campus dedicated to pediatrics
Necker-Enfants malades hospital AP-HP is a reference center with all medical and surgical pediatric specializations, a pediatric emergency department, a maternity ward and very specialized services for adults.
Specialists in the treatment of serious and complex diseases, its teams have developed an advanced medical approach thanks to the strong synergy between the clinical units, the technical facilities, and the research units.
With its 34 reference centers for rare diseases, 25 competence centers, 4 rare diseases networks, more than 500,000 patients cared for every year and 350,000 consultations, the Necker-Enfants malades AP-HP teaching hospital has positioned itself as a key player in the treatment of rare diseases, chronic diseases, and disabilities. These areas represent over a third of the hospital’s activity.
The hospital also boasts 35 teams involved in 16 European Research Networks (ERN), including ERN SKIN, which is coordinated at Necker.
